So we had snack bar duty one night for our T-ball team. We didn't have any parents sign up for that night so we got the Dudley's together. It was me, Josh, Jason, and Michelle. And to top it all off Tammy was cause she's on the committee. It was like family fun night.

Our mini family vaca

So the story goes... we were supposed to go to Disneyland with my brother and his family. Unfortunately they were unable to go and we were bummed. Well Josh and I still wanted to take Kaleb some where fun for his school's vacation. We thought well, we LOVE San Diego and we have annual passes to Seaworld that expire in August so we might as well save 150 bucks and go to Seaworld. So that's what we did...

We left at like 10 in the morning so we can time it with lunch so we can eat at La Pinata for the crisp quesailla. Oddly enough Josh eats it. Then we went to Balboa Park to walk around, ride the carousel and the mini train. Well crap, both of them were closed and the icecream stand was taking forever so we just said hey why don't we go to the zoo. That's what we did. I got some awesome pictures of Kaleb with some animals.
The next day we went to Seaworld. Last time we went we went on the Atlantis and it freaked Kaleb out! We thought ok he'll be ok this time. Nope he would hesitantly agree to go on and then change his mind. I even tried to bribe him with souviners and icecream. He'd agree then would renig on the deal when we got close. Luckily for him it was actually too cold to ride it cause it splashes a little. But everything else was great. We saw the Believe show (Shamu) and the Pets show. They had a little Boston Terrier! We got to feed the sealions of course but we were really disappointed that the the dolphin feeding area was underconstruction so we couldn't feed the dolphins. It was a bummer.
We left Seaworld at about 4:30pm. And anyone that's frequently visited San Diego, you don't go on the freeway between 3 and 7 pm. So we went to Old Town San Diego and Kaleb and I dipped our very own candles. It was fun. Kaleb picked out a dolphin and did this combination fo blue, green, purple, and black. I did a turtle. A pink and green one. It was cool. After that we ate at the none other Old Town Mexico Cafe. It was great, as always.
It was a nice little getaway. We don't get to do things like this often so we made the best of it. Kaleb had a blast and so did Josh and I. When Blake gets older and less difficult to take places he'll make memories like this too.

It was a surprise!

So this whole time I'm thinking we're going to have a nice dinner with me, josh, and kaleb for my birthday. I also thought my brother and his family were going to come out the week after to celebrate with me.

This is how it went. We got all dressed up to go to Sayaka's. We pull in and there's hardly anyone there cause they didn't open until 5, the time we got there. We're walking up to the front and Kaleb yells, "Hey that looks like my Unlce's car!"

Josh: "Be quiet Kaleb!"

Kimm: "What Uncle?"

Kaleb: "My Uncle Jason."

I said oh ok cause he always sees a car that looks like someone that we know. He'll see a VW symbol and say it looks like Uncle's car. So I didn't think anything of it. But Josh was trying to get him to be quiet and I didn't understand why.

So we walk in and I say we have a reservation for 3 at 5 o'clock. The waiter was like oh ok follow me, he didn't look at the list by the way, and so we did. All the sudden I see Ben and Jenny, Ba Sai and Lung Nit, Jason and Michelle, and Susie and Dave yelling, "Happy Birthday!" I just start to cry. I was absolutely shocked. It was the best birthday dinner ever! I never had a surprise anything so it was really special.

Jenny got me some cook books which I LOVE, I absolutely love cookbooks. Susie got me a gift card to Macy's and Michelle, being the clever one that she is, got me the Magic Bullet! It's a little inside joke I guess that happened at Christmas 09'. I made chocolate mousse yesterday and it was tasty!

All in all I want to thank EVERYONE for being there and making it the best and most special birthday ever! I love you all!

It's my Birthday!

Woo-Hoo the big 2-4! HaHa, not really. It gets more and more wierd every year. Last year I was like, "oh my god, I'm 23!" But this year it's even more like, "Holy crap, I'm 24!"
I'm way more excited about my birthday this year for some reason. Josh has been so great, he got me Twilght and New Moon (the books), undies, two extremely cute tube tops from American Eagle, a really cool summer dress (also AE), Dexter season 1, and a bag of strawberry marshmallows!
We've never really been able to fully celebrate our birthdays but this year we have a little bit more means to do it, so we're doing it.
Tonight we're going to Sayaka's for dinner, Josh, Kaleb, and myself. Blake is with my mom just cause he's a baby still and doesn't really know what's going on, so to make it a little easier for my b-day he's with Yai. (Thai for Grandma)
I picked Sayaka's cause it's one of my favorite restaurants, Benihana sucks! (just kidding Michelle, don't hurt me.) and Kaleb is always asking to go back there. He says he wants to work there. HaHaHa.

Kaleb's 1st Award

I know this is a little late but it's better than never. Kaleb had his first awards assembly at the end of February. We received a paper saying he was getting a "surprise" award. I thought all the kids got awards. But when we got there I noticed not all the parents were there. So I was like I bet Kaleb is getting an award for reading. I help him a lot with his reading and sight words and he gets better every day. And sure enough Kaleb got the reading award. Josh and I were so proud. Susie came too and she's like, "that's my grandson!"

Next quarter I was hoping maybe he might get a perfect attendance award since all his absences were excused because he was sick. Well, you can't miss ANY days, excused or not. What kind of bull honky is that? So we'll see what award he gets at the end of the year.

I like to think that I had a lot to do with Kaleb's reading and writing. So next time I'm going to get a damn picture with him.

Opening Day!

We had Kaleb's opening day ceremonies on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. I was a little nervous because I didn't know what I was going to do. They actually called my name to get the players' pins and I had to walk in front of everyone! I was not expecting that. I was a little disappointed too because I was told that they were going to announce the teams and the palyers, but they didn't, so that was a bummer. Here's a picture of Josh, Kaleb, Me, and Jason after the ceremonies.

Ben, Jenny, and the kids came down the night before so they could go to Kaleb's opening ceremonies. Kaleb was a little bummed he didn't get to hang out with them afterwards but at least they got to be together for a little bit.
They all got their face painted and got balloons. Kaleb and Colin of course had to have the same thing. They both got batman masks, Ally got flowers on her face, Kaleb and Colin got swords and Ally of course had a bad-ass flower.
Josh and I had to have our picture together.
And last but not least. I love to do take-your-own -picture type thing, so I was going to take a really cute one of me and Kaleb, and look who it is that snuck in. Some crazy lady thought she could just be all up in the mix. And that crazy lady is Michelle! Man o' man, that's my sister-in-law!
I have another picture that my nephew Colin snuck into, so if I get more of these I'm starting a scrapbook devoted to Where's Waldo type pictures.
